  • Dr Tom Gorman, Senior Lecturer in Theatre, Coventry University. Tom is an academic and theatre director currently based at Coventry University. Tom studied English Literature and Language at Queen’s University Belfast before going on to complete a PhD in Theatre at the University of Ulster researching the history of non-naturalistic dramaturgy especially the concept of the ‘play within a play’. In 1990, after working for some time as a freelance actor, Tom co-founded Sightlines Theatre Company, Belfast, working with this company as Artistic Director for six years. During this period he also worked as a freelance actor, writer and director with numerous theatre companies throughout Northern Ireland and as a writer/performer for BBC Radio Ulster. From 1997-2005 he worked as Strand Leader in Drama at the University Of Birmingham, moving on to become Course Director of the  BA Drama Studies degree at Bath Spa University. From 2007 onwards he has been working as Senior Lecturer on the BA Theatre and Professional Practice Degree at Coventry University.

 

  • Biel Jordà i Ramis Departamento de Interpretación / Coordinador de mobilidad ESADIB.  Biel is a theatre director, teacher, and playwright from the Balearic Islands. He was born in Mallorca in 1971. He teaches staging and acting at the Higher School of Dramatic Art of the Balearic Islands. He trained at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona and at The Circus Space circus school in London. Since 1998, he has directed the theatre companies Res de Res and En Blanc,[3] which seek to create theatre that integrates the performance language of the circus with theatrical storytelling.He is part of a group of actor-playwrights who, starting in the 1990s, helped professionalize Mallorcan auteur theatre. Together with Marta Barceló i Femenías, he founded the production company Res de Res & En Blanc—which encompasses both companies— and established the Centre d’Investigació Escènica (C.IN.E) in Sineu, which opened in 2016. With Res de Res—a benchmark in the world of circus-theatre—he has toured extensively around the globe.

 

  • Dr Tiina Syrjä, Senior Lecturer in Acting, Tampere University. Tiina Syrjä is a DA (Doctor of Arts in Theatre and Drama), speech therapist, vocologist, yoga teacher and teacher of the Alexander Technique, who is working as a university lecturer in Voice and Speech in the School of Communication, Media and Theatre of Tampere University, Finland. She has also worked as an actress and conductor in Tampere Playback Theatre and currently works with Tarinateatteri Vox. She has worked with stage voice for almost 30 years and has given presentations and workshops in various universities and theatre schools in Finland, Denmark, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Norway, Russia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland – to name just a few. Her current research interests include Vocal Extremes, (Online) Acting in a Foreign Language and Representations of Female Sexuality in Voice. http://www.tarinateatterivox.fi

 

  • Dr Mikko Kanninen, Senior Lecturer in Theatre, Tampere University. Mikko Kanninen is a Senior Lecturer of Acting at The University of Tampere, as well as former Artistic Director of Tampere Theatre Festival. He recieved his Doctor of Arts (Theatre and Drama) from Tampere University The School of Communication, Media and Theatre (CMT NÄTY) 2012 and his Master of Arts (Theatre and Drama) from Tampere University Department of acting (NÄTY) 1995-1999. Mikko is also engaged in work with TNT – Theatre & New Technology: Digital Solutions in Performing Arts. This is a Nordic network project coordinated by The Centre for Practise as Research in Theatre T7 (University of Tampere / School of Communication, Media and Theatre) and Riksteatern (Sweden). The project establishes a network of Nordic art institutions, individual artists, freelancers, educational organizations, theatres, festivals, researchers and other specialists to facilitate and support widely the use of new digital solutions in the performing arts. The network gathers together the current know-how on new technological solution in performing arts by organizing a series of practical workshops and seminars in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Iceland. http://mikkokanninen.com/curriculume.html
